David - Piano and Guitar Lessons in Polmont

Having come through the ranks at Blackwood Music Academy with Karen Blackwood for the past 10 years David has had training on both classical and electric guitar. As a very versatile musician David has had piano lessons with Martin Fairbairn a well respected teacher and vocal lessons from Kerry Quinn who has worked with Jessie J and Amy Winehouse to mention just a few. He has played in Blackwood Music Academy guitar ensemble, Falkirk Councils guitar group and now plays guitar, piano and sings with his own band coached by Karen Blackwood. 

As a guitarist David is an accomplished electric and classical guitarist. He can help you learn your favourite songs. From riffs to chords and he can help you progress through your trinity rock and pop grades or classical ABRSM if this is of interest.   We only work with the best at Blackwood Music Academy and finding properly trained guitar teachers can be difficult so it’s a pleasure to see our own student David progressing into the world of work as a well rounded guitarists with all of the knowledge needed to bring on the next generation of guitarists. 

As a pianist David plays and teaches a variety of pop and classical as well as extemporising on chords which is a useful skill for our bands. David is grade 8 on piano which is really at the pinnacle of trinity and ABRSM. 

He can also help you achieve your theory grades through ABRSM.  Which is essential to progress through the upper grades.

Lessons will take place in his studio in Polmont. Parents are welcome and encouraged to sit in on lessons. This can help with practice at home. 

Working with any tutor through Blackwood Music Academy will also give you access to performing opportunities at our regular concerts, competitions and we often play in our local care home Carrondale Care Home, the Dobbie Hall, the North Broomage Social Club and various other venues. We hold weekly rock and pop band classes for adults and kids where you can learn the art of playing as part of a band. No need to receive lessons through our tutors to join our weekly bands.
