Our drum kit and percussion lessons are taught by our experienced teachers and can be either online or in person from our studio in Larbert.

We boast the only full size marimba, xylophone and vibraphone in Central Scotland. We offer lessons not only on drum kit but the full range of percussion.

Blackwood Music Academy can help you achieve your rock and pop drum kit exams. Lessons for adults and children in Larbert, Falkirk, Stirling and London.

Our percussion department is headed by Falkirk Councils drum kit teacher Stuart Blackwood along with his son Lewis Blackwood who is currently studying percussion at The Royal College of Music in London.

Stuart has been teaching drum kit in schools for over 25 years and Lewis although only 19 he has already been teaching for 5 years. Lewis’ playing has been described by his current drum kit teacher at RCM as exceptional. His teacher Ralph Salmins said “I would describe Lewis as one of the most talented drummers I have taught here in over thirty years and I would expect him to be playing at world class levels.”

You can book lessons with Stuart or Lewis either in person or online. Lewis currently teaches his students online term time and in person when in Scotland.
