Stuart - Guitar and Drum Kit.

Stuart Blackwood has been teaching drum kit and guitar within the Falkirk Council schools for the past 26 years.  If you’re looking for an experienced teacher who has a track record of helping pupils achieve the best they can then look no further.  He has often taken over pupils within our academy or within schools who have been taught by other drum kit teachers in the area who don’t seem to know the Scottish Qualification Authorities guidelines for the drum kit program at N5, Higher and Advanced Highers. One of Stuarts S1 pupils recently achieved his grade 7 drum kit with distinction through Trinity.

Stuart is also an experienced guitar teacher who also sings and plays guitar as part of the well known band Sound Cradle. At least three times a week you’ll find Stuart performing either solo acoustic or as part of Sound Cradle or as a dep for various other bands and ceilidh bands.  

Working with any tutor through Blackwood Music Academy will also give you access to performing opportunities at our regular concerts, competitions and we often play in our local care home Carrondale Care Home. We hold weekly rock and pop band classes for adults and kids where you can learn the art of playing as part of a band. No need to receive lessons through our tutors to join our weekly bands.
