Angela - Violin and Viola Lessons Dundee and Online.

Angela LiYen Koo is a Malaysian violinist based in Dundee, Scotland. She holds an Honours degree in violin performance from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where she studied under the guidance of Tamás Fejes. Alongside the violin, she also enjoys playing the viola and piano.

Angela is passionate about music education and has gained teaching experience through her work with Big Noise (Sistema Scotland) and the Benedetti Foundation, where she worked side-by-side with musicians from the RSNO and Scottish Opera. These opportunities have allowed her to explore different teaching approaches and strengthen her skills in classroom, group, and one-to-one settings. She particularly enjoys working with young children, helping them to build confidence and discover the joy of music in a fun and supportive way.

As a performer, Angela has played in concerts with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and performed with Scottish Opera, and she is also an active musician with Red Events UK, appearing at a wide range of events across Scotland. She has experience in solo, chamber, and orchestral playing, and has won prizes including the Chamber Open at the Edinburgh Competition Festival and the ABRSM Ensemble Prize with Persatuan Chopin Malaysia (Chopin Society Malaysia). She enjoys exploring improvisation and creative collaborations, bringing fresh energy into both her teaching and performing.

Her blend of teaching experience, performance activity, and enthusiasm for working with communities makes Angela a versatile and inspiring musician. Lessons will be online with Angela initially and once she enough pupils in the Forth Valley we will aim to bring her into our studio in Larbert.
